Quick & Easy Art with Shadow Magnets: Just Add Water

IMG_4700.jpg

We’re well into our second month of sheltering-in-place here in the Bay area, and like most people, we’re constantly looking for things to do to pass time. This one takes no prep and provides easy entertainment for all ages.

Supplies Needed:

  • Shadow Magnets

  • Spray bottle filled with tap water

  • Flat cement area (patio, sidewalk, etc.) away from traffic

Directions:

  1. Find a flat cement area. We used our patio. Lay out your Shadow Magnets in your desired poses.

  2. Lightly spray the area surrounding your Shadow Magnets. Take extra care with the detailed areas, but make sure to not get the area too wet or else the outline will not be as crisp.

  3. Carefully lift up the Shadow Magnet. Marvel at your spray art!

Here’s a quick video of the process:

The following are a couple of images for inspiration. If you work fast, it is possible to use one Shadow Magnet multiple times to form a pattern. Multiple Shadow Magnets can also work together to form a new image, in our case, an equestrian vaulter!

We’d love to see your art. Share with us on Facebook or Instagram!
